What's New For 2024?

This year, Chevrolet has made no significant changes to the Equinox's design. The only new additions are the return of the Driver Confidence II package and two new metallic paint colors: Riptide Blue and Lakeshore Blue.

Performance

Powering every new Equinox is a 1.5-liter Inline four-cylinder engine that produces 175 horsepower and 203 pounds of torque. Front-wheel drive comes standard, but all-wheel drive is available. The EPA also estimates that the Equinox gets around 26 mpg in the city and 31 mpg on the highway when equipped with front-wheel drive. But with all-wheel drive equipped, the numbers dip to 24/30 mpg.

Interior

The exterior of the Equinox isn't the flashiest, but it is practical with its LED headlights and roof rails. The interior, on the other hand, is much more well-appointed, using durable materials to style the cabin. Along with the space to comfortably hold five, the Equinox also has various cupholders, four USB ports to charge equipment, and a roomy cargo area that can carry up to eight bags when the seats are upright.

Technology

With such a practical cabin, it's nice to see there be a wealth of tech to enjoy regardless of the trim you're in. In every trim, features like a seven-inch touchscreen with a larger eight-inch display are optional. The screens feature Chevrolet's MyLink infotainment interface, Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and USB connectivity. There is also a subscription-based Wi-Fi hotspot. Purchase a higher trim, and you'll receive even more amenities, such as a remote start, heated front seats, and a wireless phone charger.

Safety

The Equinox isn't just a well-equipped vehicle. It is also one of the safety models on the road, as it earned a five-star rating from the National Highway Transportation Safety Administration (NHTSA). Standard safety features for the Equinox include forward collision mitigation, lane departure mitigation, and a rear seat reminder. Opt for a higher trim, and you'll receive a blind-spot warning with rear cross-traffic alert, front and rear parking sensors, and a surround-view camera system.

Trims

The Chevrolet Equinox comes in four trim levels:

LS: As the base trim, the LS comes equipped with 17-inch alloy wheels, heated exterior mirrors, a seven-inch touchscreen, and a six-speaker audio system.

LT: Move up to the LT, and you'll enjoy even more amenities, such as what's offered in the LS Convenience package. There are also new features like a remote engine start, a power liftgate, and heated front seats.

RS: The RS adds all the features of the LT and offers a sportier look. Additionally, this model also offers 19-inch black wheels and roof rails.

Premier: As the highest trim, the Premier includes the LT's features as well as new amenities like leather upholstery, a hands-free liftgate, ambient cabin lighting, and a 120-volt household-style power outlet.
